bigrackaudio.com - WHY?
In this day of small project, home studios and digital recording; capturing a performance
accurately, using quality tools, is even more important than ever.
Previously, if you wanted to use "serious" recording tools, the cost was prohibitive for the 'little guy' studios.
This is definitely NOT the case anymore. The 500 series format has evolved to put the tools that
recording professionals use into the hands of virtually everyone.
Now, more than ever, "its' what's up front that counts!". We now have a format that allows a
wide palette of professional front ends and processing options. And the beauty of this format
is that you can start with as little as one mic-pre and build your system as your finances allow...
This all started with my 500 obsession. I am an avid audio / recording enthusiast.
I had a need for more than just one 500 rack and I wondered why, with all of the DIYers out there;
"Why weren't there high quality kits available?". With the exception of Jens at Eisen, there is
very little for the guy who wants to "roll [build] their own".
So I set out to build some equipment that I felt surpassed the quality of what is
currently available, with the hope that it will make available
more options for the studio DIYers out there.
BTW, I do not own a professional studio. By trade, I am an engineer. All of this is passion driven.
...and the only thing that separates me from the professionals is talent.
